My sister Katrin sent me a picture of a fire salamander in Heilbronn at the Waldheide in the morning when they were walking. Since I had some time at noon I was ready to try my luck and I was successful: The first time I have seen a fire salamander in the wild! Normally, fire salamanders are mainly active at the night. During the day, they hide in fallen leaves or under wood. However, on warm, rainy days after a dry period they may be active during the day as well.

Lermoos to Tannheimer Tal

Heilbronn, in my opinion, is a very underrated region. The nature is so close to the city with all those beautiful vineyards and all those little animal inhabitants. More information on my sisters travel blog

Saalbach Hinterglemm

A weekend in Sölden

We have stayed a longer weekend with fantastic weather at Sölden in the summertime. Our plan was to ride down the trails shaped by the Bike Republic Sölden team for two days. But for the second day, the weather forecast showed rain all day so we have decided to go hiking. Like very often in the mountains - forecast was wrong so I took out my camera to take some pictures.

North Sardinia

In October 2018, Carina and I went on road trip through Florida. We have started in Miami Beach and went all the way down on the panorama route to Key West. From there, we drove on to Naples through the Everglades and back to Miami. We saw a lot of beaches with clear turquoise water, some dolphins at the pier in Naples and iguanas in Key West and Miami Beach. On our kayak trip in the Everglades with Logan from Tour the Everglades, we saw lots of alligators passing by. In Miami Wynwood, there is some wonderful streetart which I dedicated an extra album over here

Zimbabwe Houseboat Safari

Marc and I were in Zimbabwe and lived there on a houseboat on the Sambesi river for one week. We took the ship's boat for safari trips, went fishing, visited a small fishing village on a small island and met a lot of very nice people and children.

This was a photo trip organised and paid by Lernidee
